Job Description:

Position Overview:

The Automation Drafter will work closely with the engineers to create outline drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, bills of materials, test plans and O&M manuals for customer orders.


Execute (individually or as member of an engineering team) customized production orders under minimum supervision, utilizing industry standards and best engineering practices.

Provide drafting support to engineers on submittals, as-builts and O&M documentation. This includes the design of new components, modification of electrical drawings, and incorporate field or customer based redlines.

Provide technical content for Customized Product manuals.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience:

Skills: Proficient in the use of CAD software. AutoCAD and NX experience are preferred, but experience with other CAD 2D or 3D drawing software packages is acceptable.

Computer office software proficiency, including Microsoft Office

Education: Associates Degree or equivalent

Experience: A minimum of 2 years of industrial experience.

Qualified Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the Unites States. Qualified Applicants will not require employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future for employment in the United States.

TeamCenter and SAP experience preferred

General knowledge of industrial controls or power conversion equipment, or experience in a drafting role for a large electrical equipment manufacturer.

Ability to read schematics and interpret customer specifications.

Experience with medium or low voltage motors, drives or switchgear.

Understand variable frequency drives and their applications.

Strong organization and excellent time management skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
