Job Description:

Software Application Engineer    

 

 

Siemens Energy Management Smart Grid Solutions is looking for a highly dependable and highly skilled software applications engineer. Specific duties include: develop, implement, and perform complex software related to Electricity Energy Markets Management (EMM). Analyze, design, develop, troubleshoot, recommend solutions, perform enhancements, provide technical support, and implement modifications associated with the EMM System applications. Design, develop and implement application software for electricity markets using different programming methods.

Specific Responsibilities

 

·         Active in all phases of system development; planning and analysis, design, development and testing

 

 

·         Provide architectural  technical expertise to team concerning methods, procedures and standards to be used in the during the design and development process

 

 

·         Develop application from scratch and enhance existing software applications

 

 

·         Develop and maintain technical documentation and operational procedure for area of responsibility

 

 

·         Investigate and fixe defects in both the pre and post release phases

 

 

·         Follow and contribute to the team standard and utilize industry best practices

 

 


REQUIREMENTS:

 

 

·         Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software/computer engineering or related field and a combination of work experience

 

 

·         5+ years of experience in C++, JAVA/J2EE, perl, and python 

 

 

·         Experience with Oracle database and Java application servers like Tomcat

 

 

·         Experience with SOA & Messaging experience (JMS, ESB)

 

 

·         Experience  in large system development

 

 

·         Ability to understand client requirement and come up with design solution

 

 

·         Excellent organizational skills with ability to achieve results within tight deadlines

 

 

·         Ability to travel up to 30% of time

DESIRED:

 

 

·         Background in electric utility software

 

 

·         Masters degree in computer science or other relevant engineering

 

 

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills

 

 

·         Ability to lead development, delivery and customer service efforts

 

 

·         Excellent team player

 

 

·         Strong customer service orientation
