Job Description:

Position Overview
We are looking for a Software Architect to join a dynamic and fast-paced team of Product Owners, Software Architects and Software Engineers to build the next generation of tools for Product Lifecycle Management on the cloud. This is a highly visible position that will require regular interactions with Customers and Senior Management. The Software Architect will play a key role in transforming use cases from customers and Product Management into scalable software solutions that provide outstanding user experience across multiple platforms and devices.
 
To be successful the candidate must be able to demonstrate:
  • Creative approach to problem solving
  • Ability to incorporate new technologies, platforms and deployment models to meet evolving business needs
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work closely with Product Management to implement product roadmap that maximizes customer value and incorporates functional and non-functional capabilities
  • Technical leadership by mentoring junior development staff and by being hands-on with the code
  • Ability to work without supervision on highly complex projects with complete latitude for independent judgment.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Establish architectural direction and vision for product deliverables
    • Work closely with product management and development teams to identify best solution to support use cases
    • Ensure customer use cases are factored into architectural evolution
  • Provide technical ownership and oversight for specific development projects
    • Create and maintain architectural deliverables such as Data Model, Use Cases and Implementation Strategy
    • Own Non-Functional Requirements for a feature area and ensure they are met
    • Actively contribute to project deliverables such as Agile Stories, test design, release notes etc.
    • Develop prototypes or lead that activity to select best design alternative for meeting Usability and Performance goals
    • Participate in regular code reviews with the development team
    • Analyze and resolve technical issues by taking a technical leadership role and collaborating with technical leads from multiple disciplines (Active Workspace Client Framework, Product Structure Manager, Teamcenter Platform etc.)
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to other team members
 
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or other technical discipline
  • 10+ years in large enterprise software development. Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of developing scalable and high performing n-tier solution
  • Strong background in programming languages such as C++/JAVA/C#
  • Strong software development skills including Object Oriented design, datastructures and algorithms
  • Experience with Web technologies (JavaScripts, HTML5, CSS, JSON,etc)
  • Experience with developing for cloud platforms as well as Web Application technologies such as RESTful Web services design/implementation, HTML5, CSS, JSON,  XML, JavaScript
  • Experience in RDBMS (datamodeling, SQL queries) and knowledge of NoSQL Database Platforms
  • Experience in agile development
  • Demonstrate leadership skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to simultaneously focus on the big picture while maintaining in-depth understanding of the code so as to be able to provide sound technical guidance to development teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to
    explain complex ideas to Development teams and Product Management groups
  • Experience working with global and remote team environments
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% to visit customer locations or to various development sites as required
  • Preferred locations:  Plano TX, Cypress CA, Milford OH, or Troy MI
