Overview:
The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of duties in the Quality Department with minimal supervision. Support systematic processing of turbine components as they come into the Siemens facility as detailed per the specified customer requirements.

Job Responsibilities:
THE FOLLOWING ARE THE MAJOR JOB DUTIES BUT THIS JOB DESCRIPTION DOES NOT
PRECLUDE THE PERFORMANCE OF OTHER DUTIES BY THE INCUMBENT.
•       Must be goal oriented and have a proven record of being a team player and being proactive in work performance striving for continuous improvement.
•       Must be able to interact with the customer – internal and external on an as needed basis.
• Work with cross functional teams to focus on improving the quality of production areas
•       Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
•       Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Use of Microsoft Project, Visio and Access would be a plus.
•       Must be able to read drawings and understand measurements in fractions, US Standard and metric measurement systems.
•       Must be capable of applying Lean methodologies by driving improvement throughout the production areas using six-sigma, APQP, FMEA, Risk Analysis and effective Corrective Actions where required and follow up accordingly to closure.
•       Must be capable of performing “Special Process” audits of processes as required.
•       Good working knowledge and experience with nondestructive testing, shop processes, welding, machining and CMM is a plus.
•       Use of Plan Do Check Act (PDCA) principles to correct quality problems

Education/Job Knowledge Requirements:
•       Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial) or 10 years hands-on experience as a Quality Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer in gas turbine/aerospace industry performing with a high paced and visible quality system in lieu of a BS in Engineering degree.
Experience:
•       A minimum of 2 - 5 years’ experience working with in a production/manufacturing facility and experience with Gas / Steam Turbine components is preferred. Candidate must be capable of performing Quality Engineering tasks within a high paced and visible quality system. Must be capable of using problem solving tools, manufacturing/production related productivity tools and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.

•       Experience in ISO9001 Quality Management System, product and process audit
•       Working knowledge of ISO14001, ISO18001requirements
•       Good data and database analytical skills, ability to extract data and create quality improvement strategies
•       Strong understanding of improvement methods (SPC, Six Sigma, PDCA, and FMEA)
•       Experience in new product development and project management
•       Considerable background and exposure in CNC machining processes
•       Exposure to either hands on or working knowledge in NDT, shot peening, machining, and tooling
•       Experience in dealing with customers – internal and external
•       Strong interpersonal and communication skills, problem solving skills, flexibility
