Job Description:


Position Overview

Are you looking for exposure to a broad cross section of a large organization’s operations; from Customer Order acceptance through Engineering Design, Procurement and Planning, Manufacturing, Delivery and Invoicing? Our IT User Engagement Professional will be able to interface with and influence processes across the entire organization. This position is required to apply a structured approach to document and continuously improve the organization’s factory operations by identifying non-value activities; serve as an liaison between IT Business Partners (Siemens IT and 3rd party) and the business to define and implement a standard roadmap of systems; assist the Business Power User (subject matter expert) in the support of all relevant processes; provide systems, process and technical training as required.

 

The position reports to the IT User Engagement Manager in the Business Administration organization headed by our location Controller.

Responsibilities

IT User Engagement Professional will be responsible for:

  • Fully understanding the business process and underlying systems (particularly SAP) for the functional areas assigned. A broad and detailed knowledge of SAP in a manufacturing environment is vital; including SAP methods, processes and configuration. SAP ABAP programming experience is not required.
  • Ensuring that the business process is fully documented, along with training materials, so that required training can be provided

  • Acting as a technical liaison between the business and IT for system support and enhancement requests, thus requiring a basic understanding of the technical architecture and configuration of the supporting systems

  • Facilitating meetings and workshops to identify non-value added (NVA) activities in the business process; working with Business Process Owner to prioritize these issues; developing specific plans to remove these NVAs; working with Business Power Users and IT Business Partners to implement required improvements

  • Acting as a change agent to drive the business to utilize Siemens standard systems & platforms and to align with the Siemens Reference Process House

  • Best Practice sharing with other Siemens sites

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • BA/BS in Business Administration, Operations Management or Information Technology
  • 3-5 years of experience in Process Management, Business Analysis or Information Technology

  • Strong experience using and supporting SAP Enterprise Application software (R/3 or ECC 6.0)

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Strong communication and business writing skills

  • Business Travel <10%

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with SAP modules:

    • Production Planning (PP)

    • Materials Management (MM)

    • Warehouse Management (WM)

    • Sales & Distribution (SD)

    • Finance & Controlling (FICO)

  • Experience with Winshuttle SAP Scripting tool

  • Knowledge of Lean / Continuous Improvement tools:

    • Value Stream Mapping (VSM)

    • Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA)

    • A3 Problem Solving Report
