Job Description:

The Senior Product Engineer will be responsible for providing material and process engineering support needed for the successful integration and design transfer of electro-mechanical medical devices and consumables.  The engineer will drive the projects technical responsibilities with specific focus around manufacturability of the design and supply chain activity.

 

In particular you can expect to:

-        Review engineering documents and provide detailed feedback concerning manufacturability; participate in design reviews of projects

-        Work with commodity managers and supply chain leads to identify key suppliers

-        Drive the implementation of instrument and consumable products into both internal and external manufacturing operations

-        Assist with formalizing and releasing documentation such as mechanical drawings, bill of Materials (BOM), and assembly instructions

-        Support planning and execution of verification and validation activities

-        Develop lean manufacturing processes

-        Complete design and process failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA)

-        Manage scope and magnitude of project assignments from a single component to new product introduction

Requirements:

-        Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Process or Mechanical Engineering required

-        Master’s Degree preferred

-        Experience (5-8 years) working in a regulated (ISO, FDA) manufacturing environment with a preference for new product introduction

-        Strong process and manufacturing engineering skills

-        Experience in establishing supply chain strategies and their implementation

-        Problem solving skills and the ability to take a logical approach to resolve complex problems not covered by existing procedures or practices independently

-        Ability to interface with engineering team and other professionals in a cross-functional organization

-        Strong self-management, prioritizing and multi-tasking skills to work within tight deadlines
