Position Overview


  • Design and develop mechantronic subsystems within clinical diagnostic instruments
  • The Instrument Research and Development group is responsible for producing diagnostic instruments as a whole that provide value to customer within the Siemens Healthineers offering




  • Create mechatronic subsystem designs for new laboratory diagnostic instruments
  • Create functional specifications to detail the design and interfaces to other subsystems
  • Conduct design reviews with stakeholders
  • Create test plans for verification of subsystems
  • Reviews designs with manufacturing partners to ensure parts can be made and inspected reliably
  • Process engineering changes to implement designs into production
  • Create subsystem assembly and service guidance


Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience



  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • 2-5 years of experience in part design and verification/validation
  • Hands on development of CAD solid models, accompanying drawings and performance testing
  • Demonstrates a good grasp of knowledge and principles of field of specialization and applies thorough successful completion of assignments.
  • Successfully applies knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization.
  • 10% travel may be required
