Job Description:

Position Overview
Siemens Industry Transmission Solutions (Raleigh, NC) is searching for a highly professional Business Development Manager to work with a passion for customer engagement and satisfaction.

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for the entire sales cycle of Power Capacitors in North America, from opportunities development to hand over to the order management team, implementing business strategy in order to assure or overcome order income, profitability and customer satisfaction targets. The position will report to the Director of Business Development in Raleigh, NC and to the Global Product Manager in Germany.


Business Development Manager will develop strategic business plans, marketing programs, and partnerships to support sales in designated market segments.  The role will require close coordination and teamwork with Tender Management and Application Engineering resources during the acquisition phase of assigned projects.


Specific responsibilities include:
•Working with Transmission Solutions team, Siemens Factories, Siemens field sales team and directly with customers, to ensure Siemens is properly positioned at customers to win orders for power capacitors, capacitor banks or projects applying power capacitors.
•Identify potential customers and channels for product, managing and prioritizing opportunities.
•Perform necessary activities to get Siemens plants pre-approved to bid.
•Discover and understand customer, business/operational goals, requirements and necessities,   working close to Tender and Engineering teams in order to develop best fit proposals, assuring Siemens is properly positioned to win orders.
•Work close with Procurement team to develop suppliers.
•Develop sales proposals and other sales-related documents.
•Validate and endorse the technical aspects of the offered product or solution
•Use and maintain accurate information on business intelligence tools.
•Perform analysis and provide monthly reports to support management, sales and order management teams on business strategy and operations planning.


Required knowledge/skills Education and Experience:
•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
•5 or more years of successful business development or sales experience in the Power Capacitor industry
•Demonstrated business acumen in balancing customer and business requirements, i.e. financials strategic and tactical thinking etc
•Deep understand of transmission and distribution utilities market and experience with power capacitors, its applications and competitors
•Executive level  verbal and written communication and presentation skills
•Inherent ability to work effectively in a team environment and strong desire to win
•Organization and time management skills to succeed in a fast paced environment
•Travel  20-50%


Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience:
•BS in Electrical Engineering preferred
•Experience with Transmission Utilities
•Knowledge of customers and competitors
•Spanish, Portuguese, French or German skills are a plus.
