Technical Industry Principal for PTI Services and Solutions

The Industry Principal (IP) will be responsible for driving business development and product marketing efforts along with market placement and recognition of the PTI’s industry leading power system (i.e. PSS®) software portfolio to solutions, and Siemens PTI consulting capabilities in power markets. The position will be responsible to provide customer feedback to Siemens PTI technical team and product management. This role will also be responsible for working with proposal managers and the extended proposal team to lead the risk review process to Siemens management.
This position requires deep market knowledge and technical experience in utility industry with the
understanding of power system planning (Transmission load flow, Distribution load flow, Transfer Analysis, short-circuit, EMS, Market Pricing, etc). Industry Principal will provide relevant market information to the broader Siemens Sales, Product Management, Product Development and Marketing teams to successfully influence product strategy and marketing to drive sales growth. The IP will be responsible for thought leadership in this market space and be expected to represent Siemens at external events.
Provide technical and commercial support to the Siemens PSS organization
Drive technical discussion with the customers for PSS® software and PTI consulting offerings
Support the sales team to turn leads into qualified opportunities and close the deal
Work directly with customers to increase product and service satisfaction
Establish customer partnership to achieve business goals
Provide marketing feedback to the larger PTI software and consulting team based on industry trends and customer knowledge
Work with proposal managers and the extended proposal team to lead the risk review process to Siemens management.
Promote customer satisfaction by exceeding customer needs
Represent Siemens as a distribution control thought leader in the utility industry, present at industry events, conduct webinars, write white papers, and blogs, and participate in industry group discussions via social media
Provide industry specific guidance to product management, assess competitive offerings, and communicate functional requirements regarding software solutions
Minimum of 6 years with US power systems consulting and professional training related to transmission and/or distribution planning in electric power utilities
- Understanding of US power system planning (Transmission load flow, Distribution load flow, Transfer Analysis, short-circuit, EMS, Market Pricing, etc)
- Bachelors or advanced Engineering degree with additional Masters in Business Administration is preferred
- Requires 60% travel both domestic and international travel
- Requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively work with a wide variety of customers and internal stakeholders.
- Requires leadership characteristics evidenced by clear and concise communications (verbal and written), engaging presentation skills, and a positive attitude. Must have the proven ability to work independently.
The position will not require relocation, but must be in the South East Region in the US.
