General summary of the position:

Talented scrum master who is able to distinguish between what "is scrum" what is "not scrum" to facilitate
several scrum teams at the same time to deliver value at the end of each sprint; can provide necessary support to the teams using a servant leadership style and leading by example; personifies scrum and Agile.


Essential functions:
•Strongly serving and supporting the product owners, business analysts
and development teams in their quest to do everything possible to
deliver value.
•Guiding and coaching the scrum teams and organization on how to use
Agile/scrum practices and behaviors to delight customers.
•Guiding and coaching both the scrum teams and the development teams on
how to get the most out of self-organization.
•Leading applicable scrum ceremonies, specifically planning meetings,
daily stand-ups and retrospectives.
•Removing impediments or guiding the teams to remove impediments by
finding the right personnel to remove the impediment.
•Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised
without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis
of healing and problem solving.
•Facilitating getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or
dictating the work.
•Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.
•Assisting with internal and external communication, improving
transparency, and radiating information.
•Supporting and educating the product owners and business analysts,
especially with respect to refining (aka grooming) and managing the
product backlog.

•Assessing the scrum maturity of the teams and organization and
coaching the teams to higher levels of maturity at a pace that is
sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization.


Required Skills
•Proven experience facilitating multiple scrum teams at one time.
•Experience being on scrum teams in a variety of different contexts
(different team sizes, different organizations, different cultures,
co-located vs. distributed, etc.)
•Knowledge of numerous well documented patterns and techniques for
filling in the intentional gaps left in the scrum approach (eg:
numerous burn down techniques, numerous retrospective formats, handling
bugs, etc.)
•Applicable knowledge of the technologies and tools used by the team
(eg. JIRA, Planning Poker, etc.)
•Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques
(eg. user stories, Agile games, continuous integration, continuous
testing, pairing, automated testing,)
•Previous experience as a team leader
•Excellent communication and mentoring skills with positive energy
•Sound knowledge of web and mobile technologies
•Effective problem solver
•College graduate with bachelor’s degree
•5-10 years’ experience as scrum master
