Job Description:

Position Overview

Siemens offers a comprehensive portfolio of seamlessly integrated
software products to support full life-cycle digital design and
manufacturing.  This position contributes to the development of
MindSphere, a cloud based IOT platform and application suite.

You will be part of a highly innovative fast-paced development team,
incorporating and inventing emerging software technologies to deliver
amazing IOT products to the market.

Your primaryresponsibility will be to design, architect, and improve
the development tools and CICD pipeline for the MindSphere IOT Services
area.  This area consists of a group of Cloud-Based Backing Services in
the heart of the MindSphere IOT Platform.  As a high-performing senior
member of the organization working with Agile Scrum teams, you will be
expected to design, develop, test, and mentor.

The position reports to the MindSphere IOT Services Director of
Development

 

Responsibilities

• Design and architect the infrastructure automation, monitoring and
logging solutions for Mindsphere IOT Services
• Continuously improve our CICD pipeline to make it easy to deploy,
scalable, secure and fault-tolerant
• Drive efforts to evaluate and adopt leading edge tools, technologies,
and techniques into use in our operational stack
• Perform analysis of best practices and emerging concepts in DevOps,
Infrastructure Automation, and system Security
• Mentor and coach members of each scrum team, in utilizing and
contributing to the dev tools and infrastructure
• Adopt and contribute to shared technologies used across the
MindSphere platform
• Proactive contribution to the team as a whole to ensure a product is
delivered successfully and with high quality
• Contribute to support of the area infrastructure, helping to ensure
high-availability of all services
• Continuous learning and growing

 

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree – Computer Science, Engineering, or other
supplemented with real world programming experience
• Medium-Large Scale Enterprise R&D or Infrastructure Support
Experience – 10+ years
• Experience with Infrastructure as a Service (Amazon Web Services) –
3+ years
• Worked on Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Cloudformation) – 3+
years
• Deep understanding of IP based networking (routing, security)
• Experience with SQL and NoSQLdatabases
• Hands-on experiencewith containers stacks and orchestration like
Kubernetes, Docker, AWS ECS
• Proficiency in scripting in one of Python/Ruby/Perl/PHP for
operations scripts and text processing
• Experience in system integration, log collection and analysis, using
Logstash, Elastic search, Kibana
• Experience in system metric collection, monitoring and alerting using
Grafana, AWS Cloudwatch, etc..
• Prior success in automating a real-world production environment
• Hands-on experience with at least one of the configuration management
tools (ideally Ansible)
• Self-Directed, High Energy, Able to work well in a team environment
• Excellentverbal and written communicator


Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

• Experience with virtualization technologies
• Knowledge of Big Data
• AWS Certifications -AWS Certified DevOps Engineer –Professional,
AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate
