Job Description:


Position Overview

This position is the Product Manager and the Head of Programs for the SGT (Siemens Gas Turbine)-A05 business.  This position supports the new equipment and services business for the 3-6MW power generation and oil and gas sector.  The current operating fleet in excess of 1700 global units. Key objectives of the role are as follows:

  • Define the product strategy for the SGT-A05 product formally known as Rolls Royce 501- K Gas Turbine. Interface with the Technology and Innovation function
  • Manage a team of project managers and configuration specialists (7 direct, 6 contract) 
  • Integrate with core engineering on improving reliability of the fleet
  • Integrate with the global regions as the lead contact for the Product Center of Competence
  • Reports to the Director of Engineering for the Small Engine Business

Responsibilities


  • Manage fleet safety including prompt closures to Potential Safety Investigations
  • Submit the annual engineering budget for Research and Development as well as Project Agreements (In-Service support)
  • Drive the resource balancing process to ensure headcount meets the needs of the business
  • Manage engine operational reliability and component improvement programs
  • Manage engine attributes and system requirements
  • Manage planning and execution of development and certification/qualification programs using the Product Development Process
  • Manage application coordination with multiple OEMs, including new applications and proposal efforts
  • Manage product technical support to Operations
  • Manage engine configuration control
  • Provide strategic vision for technology insertion, engine growth, and reduced engine production/operating costs



Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience


  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Physical Sciences
  • 8 years in program/project management
  • 8 years of experience in Aerospace or Power Generation industries
  • 3-5 years of gas turbine experience
  • Ability to travel up to 25% (internationally and domestically)
  • US citizen or Permanent Resident


Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience


  • Master's degree in Engineering or Business
  • Program Management Profession certification
  • Greenbelt/Blackbelt Certification
  • Previous experience with gas turbine engines (design, maintenance, operation, manufacturing)
  • Experience managing projects and using Earned Value Analysis
  • Previous experience with the Rolls-Royce/Allison Industrial 501-K gas turbine
