Position Overview

·  The Technical Writer position creates, revises and maintains the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Manufacturing Organization. Quality Assurance works closely with representatives from other functions to create, revise, obsolete and maintain SOPs for new or revised products and/or processes. This position reports directly to the Senior Manager of Quality (Document Control). 



Develops a thorough understanding of the audience and the documentation required by meeting with colleagues, and working with managers to discuss technical problems

·  Researches and builds knowledge about products or processes to be documented

·  Determines the clearest and most logical way to present information and instructions 

·  Writes and edits technical information accordingly

·  Standardizes area document formats and language

·  Prepares graphics and illustrations to complement text

·  Meets with subject matter experts to ensure suitability and accuracy of processes documented

·  Works with Operations and Technical colleagues to ensure that the finished documentation meets requirements

·  Revises, edits, or updates instructions, technical information, and frequently asked questions as necessary

·  Creates, adapts, and follows project schedules and deadlines

·  Leads SOP reviews

·  Creates redlined documents

·  Initiates Changes Notes

·  Supports Document Owners Plan, develop, organize, write and edit operational procedures and manuals

·       Maintain a comprehensive library of documents

·       Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of content

·       Manage updates and revisions of standard operating procedures

·       Supports the organization as needed


Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology or related field

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Proficiency in MS Office

Strong attention to detail

Experience working in a regulated environment (Understanding of GMPs and GLPs) 

Able to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences

Skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking

Planning and Organization


Knowledge of Software and Computers

Effective in Multitasking

Ability to Work Under Pressure in a fast paced environment
