Job Description:

 

 

The Field Service Technician's responsibilities include: installing, troubleshooting, repairing and performing preventive maintenance on all Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics instrumentation, providing on-site customer training on operation, maintenance and limited troubleshooting; responsible for delivering both timely and effective repairs as well as adequate training of operators to ensure optimal system performance, resulting in superior customer satisfaction; managing financial performance within their territory, meeting or exceeding budget for revenue generation, expense control and inventory management; managing company assets to include a company car, cell phone, computer, tools, inventory parts, etc. 

Requirements include: Must be a self-starter with excellent communication skills and ability to operate remotely from the main office with minimum supervision; demonstrate excellent judgment in customer relations and in managing company resources; strong competency in instrument systems technology to include mechanics, electrical, chemistry, and software technology; experience with electronics, hydraulic and pneumatic systems; must have excellent communication skills and be able to interface with customers in a positive professional manner; ability to think and act in a logical and methodical way; must be computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and be able to utilize computer-based tools for reports, email and for general communication; 1-3 years experience as a medical technologist or field service engineer (biomedical engineer) servicing diagnostic instruments preferred; associates degree or equivalent in military experience preferred (graduates of the U.S. Navy Nuclear program are encouraged to apply); background or coursework in chemistry, biology or natural sciences is very helpful; clean driving record over last three years is required. 

Job Family Responsibilities:

Participates in semi-
complex equipment installation, trial runs, investigative tests, repairs and overhauls. Participates in training customers on semi-complex products and services. Performs semi-complex maintenance on tools, test equipment, etc., and maintains documents of all installations, inspections, maintenance and repair work, and failures. Participates in responding to semi-complex service or systems calls. Participates in the assessment of semi-complex product/equipment performance based on field support data and recommends modifications or improvements.


*After completion of training, the hours for this position will change to
2pm-11pm.


Education:

Associates degree or 1-2 years of vocational technical training preferred. HS diploma or equivalent required. Specialized skill training/certification may be required.

Knowledge and Experience:

Demonstrates comprehensive working knowledge of a technical or specialty area, and of operations, methods, and practices.Generally, 2-5 years of successful experience in area of responsibility and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.

Key Working Relationships:

Primarily intra-organizational contacts and limited external contacts.
