Position Overview

The Quality Manager in Project (QMiP) for the truck business will be responsible for all aspects of the quality planning, definition of all assurance activities.

The QMiP for the truck business will have the primary responsibilities of the organization related to quality planning for all trucks - all platforms and projects.

Reports to the Director, Quality Management for Mobility Rolling Stock Sacramento.



  • Overall responsibility - effectively define, plan, implement, and monitor specific quality assurance measures in all aspects of the supply chain, production process. 
  • Defines all aspects of the quality system as it relates to the truck business
  • key project management and customer contact on all quality related issues from proposal to field/ warranty support
  • review customer, regulatory requirements are understood and complied with
  • define the specific quality planning for each program and project to quality of the product and associated processes
  • risk and opportunity management

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • BSME strongly preferred
  • 10 years experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, heavy steel and precision construction
  • 10 years working in complex heavy manufacturing including welding, painting, CNC, laser measurement and complex mechanical/ electromechanical assemblies
  • Amount of travel: approximately 20% mostly in the USA, but also foreign travel will be required

Position Overview



 The Passenger Locomotive Field Service Technician will be responsible for the troubleshooting and repair of next generation diesel locomotives that are delivered from the OEM to the local authority in Baltimore.  The technician will need to be familiar with electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.










  • Diagnose electrical malfunctions in locomotive control circuits and components, assess the nature of problems, and identify corrective action needed.


  • Work with shop machines and hand tools.


  • Understand and follow company and industry safety rules, practices, and procedures.


  • Communicate with others, verbally and in writing, technical information, job procedure recommendations, and other work-related information.


  • Assist other employees as needed.


  • Read, interpret and understand written or electronic information, maintain the information, and compile reports


  • Use PTU’s (laptops) to troubleshoot various systems onboard the locomotives.








Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience






  • High  school diploma (or GED)


  • Minimum 5 years experience in relevant field, preferably in the railroad industry
  • Must be proficient in electrical, pneumatic, mechanical troubleshooting
