Job Description:

Position Overview
The person in this role will be managing and execute against project plans and delivery commitments within an Agile/Scrum environment within the Innovation and Research team. You will be leading a team of highly motivated software developers, which thrives on solving challenging problems with innovative solutions. The software development activity could be prototype code, researching an emerging technology, developing applications and microservices, testing harnesses, DevOps pipeline steps, and cloud development technology. The person in this role will be on an Agile Scrum team, and will participate a daily scrum meeting, updating story tasks, and providing daily updates to the team.

  • Manage a team of high caliber Software Development Engineers working on building world class, scalable distributed systems
  • Recruit, hire, mentor, and coach Software Development Engineers at different levels of experience
  • Interface with our internal customers to understand requirements, set priorities and communicate direction and progress
  • Own all operational metrics and support for your teams' software
  • Drive improvements in software engineering practices across engineering teams
  • Assist in defining product roadmaps based on team strategy and vision
  • Manage prioritization and trade-offs among customer experience, performance and operational support load
  • Support prioritization of backlog based on business value
  • Coach team to track story points in sprints
  • Drive Scrum ceremonies with scrum team
  • Communicates and track scrum team velocity and release milestones
  • Coordinate & track readiness/risks of all requirements across scrum teams
  • Manage product communications, upward and downward through organization; escalate issues and present mitigation/solutions to cross-functional executive teams
  • Influence product development, product testability, stability to ensure a superior end to end customer journey
  • Communicate system requirements and schedules to facilitate technical
    readiness with cross-functional teams.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years professional experience in software development building production software systems
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as Senior Scrum Master with a scrum coaching mentality in a 100% Agile environment
  • Must have recent 5 years as Scrum Master for a platform enterprise development team using SaaS technology
  • Must be well versed with agile roles and artifacts
  • Strong experience in delivering projects using Agile methodology is a must
  • Demonstrated experience delivering product successfully with Agile KPI metrics
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) is a must
  • Sharp analytical abilities and design skills are required.
  • Strong Operational Excellence skills are essential
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to drive operational excellence and best practices within a larger engineering community that is working on complex technical problems
  • Location:  Milford, OH or Plano, TX

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze quantitatively, scope technical requirements and effectively prioritize program deliverables
  • Experience in releasing software across multiple software teams
  • Experience hiring and building new technical teams from scratch, including hiring, bootstrapping new development processes, establishing quality metrics and testing methodologies, and setting up automated deployments
  • Experience managing technical teams across multiple geographies
  • Have a hands-on knowledge of Java or C/C++, and mainstream cloud computing technologies
  • Architectural expertise in the design of large-scale, highly available, low latency, distributed systems and software
  • Experience with developing rich user interfaces and elegant user experiences.
  • Experience with cloud based analytics platform
  • Experience with new client-side application technologies (e.g. ReactJS and React Native)
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Excellence in technical communication with peers and non-technical cohorts
  • Project planning/execution skills including estimating, scheduling,
