Job Description:

Position Overview

Seeking a Procurement Specialist to organize, control and monitor all procurement activities in a project and introduce procurement strategies targeting maximum contribution to the operating result. Collaborate with external supplier contacts, including business development and operation management, and internal customers in planning, sales, and engineering.  Also support intra-organizational contacts, including international locations and agendas.



  • Develops procurement strategies in projects based on Division-wide and Group-wide procurement strategies and ensures their implementation.
  • Guides the establishment of proper sourcing processes and control of procurement resources and activities for optimum cost-cutting potential, and to meet delivery deadlines and quality standards.
  • Guides the introduction of universal procurement strategies into the project process.
  • Guides the analysis of scope of supply, customer contract agreements and risk and develops negotiation recommendations.
  • May guide the analysis of sales and operations planning in respect of starting/new projects, and assessing and controlling of material costs within the whole project process.
  • Guides the identification of risks, opportunities and market forces during the project to avoid potential damage / exploit potential opportunities.
  • Supports contractual and price negotiations.
  • Guides definition of internal indicators (metrics) for project controlling and compilation all relevant information.
  • Independently performs advanced areas of work for the professional field.
  • Applies advanced skills to resolve complex problems not covered by existing procedures or practices independently.
  • Displays a high level of critical thinking in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross-functional problems.


Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • 8 - 10 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of key responsibilities and knowledge as presented above.  Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience, where applicable.
  • Demonstrated and applied comprehensive knowledge of management of EMS (Contract Manufacturers) or New Product Introduction (NPI) to the successful completion of complex assignments.
  • Advanced knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures of management of EMS or NPI.
  • Knowledge of organization's business practices and issues faced and contributes to problem resolution of those issues. 
  • Experience reading contracts and understanding what is required, and how to implement such an agreement
