Job Description:

Position Overview

At Siemens Healthineers Molecular Imaging, we discover, develop and deliver molecular imaging solutions that enable our partners to improve healthcare outcomes. We currently have an opening for a  Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Hoffman Estates, IL.

 

Our mechanical engineers design medical imaging equipment for distribution worldwide.  As a Mechanical Engineer II, you will be developing products from concept through sustaining using advanced CAD tools such as Siemens NX.  You will take concepts from senior staff, as well as develop your own concepts to solve critical engineering problems including; structural design, thermal management and human interaction. You will develop skills in a wide variety of manufacturing processes, including motion systems, sheet metal design, casting, injection molding and more.  You will be exposed to complex systems and robust design methods that will expand your career opportunities. 


 

Responsibilities
As a member of our mechanical engineering staff, you will be developing medical imaging systems.  Primary responsibilities will include:

·        Working within a cross-functional team made up of both technical and non-technical team members.

·        Creating material specifications as well as, detailed part and assembly drawings.

·        Developing and executing test plans to verify design.

·        Become proficient in Siemens NX, SAP and common office and engineering tools.


 

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

·        B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering

·       5+ years of directly related engineering experience

·        Detail oriented with a strong commitment to quality and our customers

·        Excellent team player with strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

·        5% travel required

 

 

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

Interest and/or working knowledge in the following areas:

·        Mechanism design

·        Structural design and analysis

·        Drive systems

·        Thermal management
