Job Description:

The Product Manager, Portfolio & Innovation Molecular Diagnostics, works with new product development to define product and customer features. This role is responsible for menu/assay applications on an instrumented molecular diagnostics platform and is a primary customer advocate through ongoing customer interactions. This individual contributor role will interact with key stakeholders within sales & marketing, quality, manufacturing, supply chain, R&D and technical service in the development of commercial launch plans an execution.

 

Responsibilities

Responsible for understanding the worldwide needs of the clinical molecular diagnostic customers and translating these into the appropriate product definitions and successful products that serve the clinical market.

  • Participates in and supports new product development activity from concept through commercialization including  voice of customer research, definition of customer and product requirements, value proposition, pricing, product launch and lifecycle management.
  • Maintains effective relationships with R&D and new product development core teams, driving product decisions, communication across projects and project execution while assuring commercial objective achievement
  • Customer advocate who understands and communicates customer needs effectively including technical requirements.
  • Provides product training as needed transferring knowledge of the products to the sales and marketing team at the appropriate times.
  • Analyze market trends, customer requirements, market and competitive intelligence to provide real time feedback, and recommendations for product and business success.
  • Provides business case analysis, develops product strategy and prioritizes features and timing to maximize ROI.
  • Participates in go-to-market development and execution.
  • Develops and implements internal/external marketing and sales tools as needed.
  • Translates scientific, medial, and technical information into sales and marketing collateral
  • Participates in company presence at targeted molecular congresses. 

 

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in life sciences or molecular biology. MBA or Masters of Science a plus.
  • 7 year experience in clinical molecular diagnostics industry with focus in infectious disease
  • 3+ years in in-vitro diagnostics
  • Marketing/product management experience with a focus on global expansion and product launch.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of MDX technologies, applications, and markets.
  • PCR knowledge and experience at a minimum, with understanding in the any of these areas a plus - genomics/oncology, sequencing, companion diagnostics, life sciences.
  • Prior demonstrated success in phase gate NPD processes
  • Prior experience in sales in clinical healthcare environment or clinical lab (IVD) a plus
  • Travel will be approx. 30%
