We are working on novel technologies to develop next generation quantitative multi modal SPECT solutions, where artificial intelligence is complementary to image formation research.
We are currently seeking a Senior-level Scientist to join our research team at Hoffman Estates, IL. In this role, you will develop and implement complex prototypes for tomographic reconstruction for various imaging system designs, but also work along the image formation data continuum.
You will work in a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and have access to luminary researchers worldwide. The ideal candidate is flexible enough to support the team to develop software tools for data and image analysis, but also to drive own research projects in the area of tomographic reconstruction. You should be comfortable to work on different software and hardware platforms ranging from high performance CPU/GPU based workstations to clusters to cloud deployments under aggressive timelines.
· Ph.D. in physics, astronomy, electrical engineering or equivalent
· 7+ years of experience
· Desired areas of expertise:
o Radiation transport and diffusion theory
o Monte-Carlo gamma-rays massive computation simulations on cloud/clusters
o Algorithm development for solving stochastic ill-conditioned inverse problems, Bayesian Methods, Pre-conditioning, Nonlinear minimization, Regularization Methods, SPECT, CT, MR (preferred)
o Image and Data processing, Pattern recognition, Ray tracing, Segmentation, Elastic registration, Noise reduction techniques
o Massive data handling including standards of DICOM
o Machine and Deep Learning methods
o Parallel and high performance computing with CUDA/OpenCL, Python, Matlab, R, C/C++/C# on Windows (must), Linux/Unix (must) platforms.
· Ability to communicate with both scientists and non-scientists is essential
