Job Description:

Technical Lead - Locomotive and Coach Running Maintenance and Repair

Position Overview:

This is a hybrid position.  You will be working as a Technician (or QMP) part of the time and performing the duties of Relief Frontline Supervisor as needed.  You will also be required to lead the technical team in creating and delivering work instructions, maintenances practices, standard operating procedures, and creating job safety analysis instructions as required by the operations team. The shift may vary at times but can include dayshift or nightshift, weekdays or weekends, and working holidays as needed where vacancies occur through scheduled personal time off vacancies.

Responsibilities:

·         Perform day to day running maintenance and unscheduled repair to a fleet of locomotives, coaches, and train sets via maintenance instructions from Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS )

·         Verify that all defects, tasks, and / or incidents have been reported and documented in (CMMS) for compliance, issue tracking, and closure

·         Act as a mentor to provide on-the-job training for field service technicians and locomotive movement engineers as required

·         Will strive to be qualified with the Siemens maintenance personnel QMP certified within the first six months of employment

·         Must be able to perform all other functions as needed including forklift operation, daily cleaning operations, and other as needed. Must be will to aid in moving locomotives, coaches, and train sets as needed in / or around the yard, site, and shop as site as needed

·         Develop a working relationship with the Customer as an employee and representative of Siemens Mobility

·         Maintain compliance to all Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) related safety rules, laws, and regulations

·         Always ensure highest quality standards are met in accordance with Siemens Rail Systems

·         Foster a work environment that drives a safety first zero harm culture (ZHC) and speak up when necessary as a stakeholder for shop and site safety for yourself and your coworkers

 

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

·         Electrical or mechanical or equivalent work experience is desired

·         Required experience: 3-5 years of working experience with a railroad or other technical agency

·         Detailed knowledge of technical aspects of the rolling stock / depot

·         You may be required to work the off shift in this position

·         Must be willing to relocate to Orlando Florida (Phase Two)

Preferred:

·         Experience with FRA relations

·         Experience with engine systems is desired

·         Experience with electrical systems is desired

·         Experience with HVAC systems is desired

·         Experience with pneumatic air brake systems is desired

·         Experience with auto body repair is desired

·         Experience with upholstery / seat repair is desired

·         Experience with welding including certifications is desired

·         Quality Certifications
