Job Description:

Position Overview
 
The Mergers, Acquisitions & Divestitures (MA&D) Project Manager is a subject matter expert specializing in US Benefits Programs across Health & Group Benefits (H&GB) and Qualified / Non-Qualified Retirement Plans. This role will be responsible for coordinating all benefits and retirement related activities during the different phases of MA&D processes globally.  Additionally, the role will be responsible for executing MA&D related projects in North America.  This role will collaborate closely with the local Retirement and Health & Group Benefits teams on all MA&D activities and serve as a liaison between the benefits expert function, the business and other support and central functions.  The position reports to the Senior Director of North American Benefits.
 
Key Responsibilities  
  • Supports Regional Benefits Manager with Corporate Mergers, Acquisitions, Joint Ventures and Divestitures (MA&D) in the regions
  • Collaborates with Siemens’ divisions, internal counsel, finance, global shared services and external providers to support benefits activity related to MA&D activities
  • Provide information for MA&D teams on plans and members for baselining and due diligence of insurable benefits, including comparing the benefit programs of potential acquisitions to those offered by Siemens
  • Collaborates with the internal finance organization to coordinate asset transfers to/from the retirement plans
  • Supports the integration and communication of the Siemens benefit programs for newly acquired employees
  • Plans and leads execution of post-merger integration programs (i.e. coordination of global activities)
  • For carve-outs and divestitures, coordinates all global activities including. baselining, transfer concepts and service agreements
  • Works closely with Global HR M&A as well as Pension M&A teams on all assigned matters, including participation in expert community and project meetings
  • Decides when to involve and manages external resources, and provides reporting to relevant stakeholders
  • Leads and/or supports other global initiatives and projects, as assigned
  • Contributes to further development of global standards, knowledge management, tools and core processes
  • Leads and/or supports global initiatives related to Health & Group Benefits as well as Retirement  
  • Works with an eye toward continuous improvement and proactively provides thoughtful recommendations on streamlining and simplifying MA&D processes, including driving digitalization 
General Requirements:                                                        
  • Bachelor Degree required
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in benefits/pensions related MA&D activities, preferable in multinational or consultancy
  • Business fluent knowledge of English in spoken and written form;  additional languages
    (e.g. German) desirable
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Travel ~10 - 15%;  includes domestic and international travel 
 
Functional Competencies:
  • Strong project management skills
  • Demonstrated track record in designing and implementing MA&D projects
  • Experience in leading international benefits and pension projects
  • Advanced communication and change management skills
  • Working knowledge of US market trends and legislation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate benefits information across a large organization
  • Strong attention to detail with sound analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to support multiple projects concurrently and prioritize rapidly in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and is team-oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
     
    Other Experience Considered a Plus (not required):
  • Professional qualification (e.g. Actuary) is a bonus
  • Preferable work experience abroad or in international business / project experience
  • Experience in other  areas of Compensation & Benefits desirable
  • Knowledge of global market trends and local legislation beyond the US
