Job Description:

Material / Shipping Handler

*Starts at 19.00/hr + Shift Differential

 

A Materials Handler Performs the necessary material receiving, storage, delivery and inventory of all items assigned to the department including:

·         Transport materials to assigned areas in production

·         Document and record the receipt and delivery of all materials and products using SAP

·         Perform required equipment inspections for safe operation and delivery. 

 

Responsibilities

A Material Handler must:

  • ·         Perform all daily tasks in a safe manner
  • ·         Efficiently operate a stand-up fork truck in high traffic areas and in narrow aisles
  • ·         Use a computer to enter and obtain material information and document all transactions in SAP
  • ·         Have great attention to detail while working to a deadline
  • ·         Have a positive attitude, work well with others, and implement constructive criticism
  • ·         Utilize 5S and LEAN principles to ensure their work is being completed as efficiently as possible

 

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • ·         At least one year of experience in a manufacturing/construction or similar environment (or commensurate education) or 3 months of experience as a Siemens contractor
  • ·         Must have experience operating a stand-up fork truck
  • ·         Must have a working knowledge of computers
  • ·         Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs several times per hour
  • ·         Must be able to read numbers and process in sequential order
  • ·         Must be organized and able to prioritize tasks quickly to minimize impact to production
  • ·         Must be able to be available for overtime on weekdays and weekends
  • ·         Qualified Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States.
  • ·         Qualified Applicants will not require employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future for employment in the United States

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • ·         Experience using SAP in a warehouse setting
  • ·         NCRC of at least a Silver
  • ·         Positive attendance and employment history
  • ·         Recent experience at Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy in a warehouse contractor capacity

 Must be able to successfully pass a pre employment drug screen and background checks
