Job Description:

Position Overview:
Are you ready to join a team that is the leader in analytical process gas chromatography?  The drafter will play a key role in the production of analytical equipment for industrial applications.

The drafter supports the analytical engineering design team with the creation of detailed drawings and related production documentation. The drafter will provide support to engineering, crafts people, final test, and throughout all phases of production. This position will report to the Production Engineering Manager within the Analytical Products & Solutions Business Segment, Process Automation Business Unit, Process Industries & Drives Division.

Responsibilities:
The Drafter is responsible for production drafting & design functions which include:

  • Create production drawing package based on engineering input.

  • Work cooperatively with the engineering team to resolve documentation & design related questions.

  • Standardization.  Maintain the standard template library and apply templates consistently from project to project.

  • Support crafts people and final test during the production phase of the project.

  • Finalize design documentation at the completion of production to represent the “As-Built” configuration

  • Coordinate documentation transmittals to internal and external stakeholders.

 Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

  1. Candidate must have 3-5 years direct AutoCAD experience.

  2. Candidate must have an AS Degree in Engineering Design, Technology or equivalent degree plan.

  3. Candidate must be able to work independently or in a team environment.

  4. Candidate must have a working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  5. Candidate must have a firm understanding of modular equipment concepts.

  6. Candidate must be organized and able manage / prioritize multiple tasks.  

 

 

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • It is preferred the candidate to have BS Degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent degree plan.

  • It is preferred for the candidate to have worked for a manufacturer of analytical equipment or analyzer system integrator for 3-5 years.

  • It is preferred the candidate has an understanding of hazardous area classifications: Class I Division 1, Class I Division 2, ATEX Zone 1, and ATEX Zone 2 electrical areas.

  •  It is preferred the candidate have an understanding of applicable industry codes & standards: NEC, IEC, API, NFPA, ISA

  • It is preferred the candidate have an understanding of Lean manufacturing concepts and practical application for process improvement.

  • It is preferred the candidate have a knowledge of other software including:  SAP, Siemens NX CAD, Visual Basic

  • It is preferred the candidate have a basic understanding electrical & instrumentation control wiring.

  • It is preferred the candidate have a basic understanding of sample conditioning design concepts.
