Job Description:

Parts Manager

The Parts Manager is responsible for managing the commercial parts business. The Parts Manager’s major functional responsibilities include forecasting, quotation, order entry and management, planning, cost/price, scheduling, and shipping.  Team building and close relationship with regional D-R selling teams is critical to close gaps and grow D-R parts sales.


This position will create and manage commercial sales policies in conjunction with regional sales directors to create additional bundling opportunities in guaranteed service contracts, field service and repairs.

  • Provide a bridge to branches and regions to enable growth in parts, service, and repairs
  • Provide excellent customer service as measured by quotation cycle time, on time delivery, order entry cycle time,  information request response and customer feedback
  • Resolve quality and delivery problems concerning parts in the most expeditious manner to minimize costs and back-charges
  • Responsible for setting inside sales team direction and creating and maintaining excellent client (internal and external) relationships
  • Develop inside sales personnel and create opportunities for personnel to develop and progress within Dresser Rand organization
  • Manage staffing levels and adjust levels based on business activities within branches and regions
  • Work with regional sales directors to meet regional sales requirements and future demands and growth within the region
  • Partner with branches and regions to develop market level pricing, to strengthen D-R position within a particular branch or region
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing or commercial sales related field
  • Previous personnel managerial experience required
  • Must be able to commit to at least 30% travel to branches and regions
  • Strong inter personal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate commercial business terms and pricing
