Division Description:

I.              Basic Function

Under direct supervision, performs various material handling tasks in the areas of receiving, stockroom, internal material movement, storage, picking, packing and processing of orders. 

 

II.            Essential Duties

Operates material handling equipment including forklifts, fork trucks, power jacks, manual pallet jacks and automatic retrieval systems where present in the operation.

 

Stores and issues products from finish goods/raw materials inventory. Supplies production, assembly lines and various work cells.

 

Uses PC terminal/RF scanners to document transactions.

 

Fills orders for all customers.  Internal/External and Domestic/International.

 

Packages material for shipment using cartons, filler materials, tape and strapping equipment for all orders, domestic/international.

 

 

Participates in cycle counts and physical inventory including conducting counts, audits, documenting results.  

 

Operates scale counting equipment, calculators, computers, RF scanners and UPS parcel systems.  

 

Loads and unloads trucks.

 

Maintains a clean and safe work environment.  Follows all company rules and policies.

 

As necessary, provides back up  coverage to Distribution department driver, if required of the operation.

III.           Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

 

 

High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required

 

No experience required.  1-2 years stockroom/warehouse experience preferred.

 

Basic computer skills.

 

Ability to function and contribute in a team environment and work with minimal supervision.

 

Ability to operate all types of material handling equipment including forklifts, power jacks, manual pallet jacks, hand tools and electric/pneumatic power tools

 

Good oral and written communication skills in English language for the purpose of understanding training/direction and to interpret documentation used in the operation’s process.

 

Must be able to lift a maximum of 70 lbs and have ability to climb a ladder.

 

Must be capable of passing a forklift certification class.

 

Training will consist of involvement with all warehouse functions and assignments will be based on the workload.

 

Employees will be exposed to regular warehouse and loading dock conditions of heat and cold depending on the season.
