Job Description:

 Position Overview:

Siemens is seeking a technology expert to provide Building Technologies product expertise throughout our Pacific Zone.   This role will create and deliver training and application support for technical field staff, sales teams, and customers; disciplines include building automation, fire and life safety, electrical services, building performance and sustainability, and third-party products integrated into Siemens systems.  This position can be based in the Los Angeles or San Diego areas.
  • Works with the Zone Engineering team to help implement strategies focused on cross-discipline offerings, specifically in Intelligent Infrastructure Solutions and Integrated Building Management Systems.  
  • Diagnoses and resolves technical problems on jobs and provides appropriate reports to management.
  • Troubleshoots network, software, and/or hosted system malfunctions.
  • Leverages remote connectivity to improve rapid problem solving with technicians and customers.
  • Works with other Zone Technology Experts to develop and share technical solutions.
  • Creates training content.
  • Works with Zone engineering team to implement strategies to reduce installation costs.
  • Stays current with BT product documentation and communicates updates to field technicians and specialists
  • Maintains technical expertise on all products, tools, and gateways through continuing education initiatives. Provides technical sales assistance and support on latest company products.
  • Performs product demonstrations and communicates design strategies to Sales Executives.
  • Leads meetings to ensure best practice sharing and team work.
  • Participates in advisory teams for new product releases, project slates, and technical training development.
  • Provides Manager a monthly report of all activities performed (Sales support, Technical and Application support, training, mentoring, etc.). Suggests ways to continuously improve reports and meeting content.
  • Supports all BT personnel in the offices in the assigned Zone.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
  • Required education: High school diploma, state-recognized GED, or state-recognized high school proficiency.
  • Required experience: Five years of experience providing technical support in multiple building technology disciplines.
  • Required travel: 40%
  • Other requirements:
    • Good relationship building skills; ability to interpret customer requirements, identify needs and resolve issues in a positive manner.
    • Good verbal and written communications skills in English required to train customer personnel and Siemens team members.
    • Leadership skills to mentor less experienced Zone technology personnel.
    • Ability to adapt to shifting demands and competing priorities from customers and internal partners to consistently manage time effectively and meet established deadlines.
    • Skilled in PC applications and in the use of Microsoft Office.
    • Certifications as required by local, state, or federal codes within the Zone.
    • Ability to work in a variety of circumstances including climbing ladders, scaffolds and high-lift equipment as well as working in ducts, crawl spaces, and above ceilings.
    • Must be able to differentiate types/colors of wire.
    • Must be able to use hand-tools.
    • Must be able to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted.
    • Individual must possess a valid Driver’s license in good standing
    • Individual must be at least 21 years of age in order to participate in the required Siemens vehicle plan.
