Job Description:

Build/Wire/Install Plug-In and Fixed Mounted Units

Assembly Wirer & Final Assembly


Overview
Functional Area Position 2 includes responsibilities for the build/assemble/wire of Plug-in and Fixed Mounted Units, MCC wiring, sub assembly and final assembly duties. 
 

Responsibilities
The selected candidate will:

  • Perform panel assembly/wiring and final assembly/wiring to the highest level of accuracy (work to zero tolerance) and Workmanship.
  • Perform appropriate job record transactions.
  • Adhere to developed processes, methods and/or seek ways to improve.
  • Be a strong team player, as the work involves a lot of interaction with others.
  • Communicate in English (read, write & speak fluently).
  • Observe all safety rules and keep safety first for self and others.
  • Miscellaneous other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Management.
 

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • 1 year experience performing mechanical assembly (build) of product

  • 1 year panel wiring experience within product line.

  • Sub assembly work includes mechanical assembly of steel and components, control wiring, power cable work, interconnection of control wires, understanding and correct installation of communication cables in a system.

  • Must have the ability to work with large power cables including correct method of crimping connectors.

  • Knowledge on electrical clearances, applied torque & industry workmanship standards on connections.

  • Experience working with standard hand and power tools both pneumatic and battery operated.

  • Strong knowledge of Siemens standards and how to apply these standards with given documents.

  • Knowledge of torque wrench and applied torque values.

  • Proven record in Quality and Productivity.

  • Required to lift parts or sub-assemblies that weigh 35 lbs or less on regular basis.

  • High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • 2+ years’ experience of electrical assembly (build) of a product.

  • 2+ years’ of experience wiring
  • Associates Degree or technical training in area of responsibility.
