Job Description:

 

Position Overview:
 

The Quality Professional is responsible for developing and facilitating process improvement activities with the goal of reducing scrap and rework, reducing throughput time for on-time delivery and improving customer satisfaction. 

  • The successful candidate will take a direct hands-on role in helping to identify improvement activities and working directly with the respective process owners to develop and implement solutions for those improvements
  • This position reports to the local Quality Manager for the Operation
 
Responsibilities: 
  • Develop, analyze and distribute quality and non-conformance data
  • Initiate and facilitate quality improvement activities with the respective process owners within the operations
  • Initiate and facilitate quality improvement activities with key suppliers both locally and at their locations
  • Initiate and lead root cause and corrective action activities for both internal and customer reported issues
  • Organize and facilitate third party and customer compliance audits and surveillances
  • Provides training on Quality concepts and improvement tools
  • Work directly with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering and Project management to support the goals of the Operation 

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering Discipline – preferred or Associate’s Degree and relevant manufacturing experience
  • Ability to travel as required  both domestically and internationally
  • Knowledge of machining processes, ability to read engineering drawings
  • Microsoft Office tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience: 

  • ASQ certification
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements
  • Thorough understanding of problem solving and quality improvement tools
  • Past experience in a metalworking manufacturing environment
  • Team leading and facilitation skills
