The Field Service Technician's responsibilities include: installing, troubleshooting, repairing and performing preventive maintenance on Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics instrumentation, providing on-site customer training on operation, maintenance and troubleshooting; responsible for delivering both timely and effective repairs as well as adequate training of operators to ensure optimal system performance, resulting in superior customer satisfaction; managing financial performance within their territory, meeting or exceeding budget for revenue generation, expense control and inventory management; managing company assets to include a company car, cell phone, computer, tools, inventory parts, etc.
Requirements include: Must have excellent communication skills and ability to operate remotely with minimum supervision; demonstrate excellent judgment in customer relations and in managing company resources; strong competency in mechanics, electronics, and software technology; experience with electronics, hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatic systems; must have excellent communication skills and be able to interface with customers and peers in a positive professional manner; ability to think and act in a logical and methodical way; must be computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and be able to utilize computer-based tools for reports, email and for general communication; 1-2 years experience as a medical technologist or field service engineer (biomedical engineer) servicing diagnostic instruments preferred; associates degree or equivalent in military experience preferred (graduates of the U.S. Navy Nuclear program are encouraged to apply); background or coursework in chemistry, biology or natural sciences is very helpful; clean driving record over last three years is required.
Job Family Responsibilities:
Participates in semi-complex equipment installation, and repairs. Participates in training customers on semi-complex products and services. Performs semi-complex maintenance using tools, test equipment, etc., and maintains documents of all installations, inspections, maintenance and repair work, and failures. Participates in responding to semi-complex service or systems calls. Participates in the assessment of semi-complex product/equipment performance based on field support data.
Associates degree or 1-2 years of vocational technical training preferred. HS diploma or equivalent required. Specialized skill training/certification may be required.
Knowledge and Experience:
Demonstrates comprehensive working knowledge of a technical or specialty area, and of operations, methods, and practices. Generally, 2-5 years of successful experience in area of responsibility and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.

Primarily intra-organizational contacts and limited external contacts.
