Job Description:





Sr. Engineering Technician     R&D Lab   -  1st Shift







The Sr. Engineering Technician will be responsible to support all R&D Test Lab initiatives in supporting the goals of the R&D department and our global customer base which includes the understanding and execution of all R &D lab testing including hardware and software system, subsystem, and component testing utilizing engineering test procedures, appropriate test equipment, and follow all applicable safety rules and requirements.  The position is also responsible for one or more of the following:



               Senior Engineering Technician Responsibilities: 



o   Performs complex engineering related studies, processes, designs, inspections and/or quality audits.



o   Completes the gathering, recording and maintaining engineering specific information.



o   Completes the preparation of complex charts, graphs and diagrams to illustrate various engineering procedures.



o   Completes complex testing and troubleshooting in a variety of engineering tasks. Assembles complex prototypes and ensures proper interaction of components.



o   Completes documents of complex internal engineering procedures via simple text, charts, graphs and diagrams.



o   Completes complex engineering-related studies to assist engineers in developing engineering systems improvements.



o   Completes complex specification development or preparation.



o   Performs complex and technically demanding work within technical or paraprofessional area. Effectively identifies problems as they occur and takes appropriate steps to solve them in situations where the problem is more difficult and complex. Refers only most complex, unusual problems to others.





         Coaching and/or leadership skills to help promote the quality culture mindset



         Knowledge of all duties will be cross functional but specific duties may be assigned.



         May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.






Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience




·        Associate’s degree or 1-2 years of vocational technical training required.  

Prior experience as a production test technician for VFD’s is required, five years is preferred.



  • Basic computer skills required


  • Good oral and written communication skills


  • Basic math skills and problem solving skills






·         Rate of Pay – Based on Grip Code RD-RD-LABOR-TE11 Laboratory Technician 11



·         This position is a salary, non-exempt position. Over time pay is available.



·         Over Time – Over Time may be available on an as required basis.



·         5% travel may be required to visit customer locations
