We are looking for a procurement professional for our Water Solutions BU (PD SLN).


Mission/Position Headline: Supply of material and services to Water Solutions projects according to the customer requirements at the lowest price whilst ensuring quality and on-time delivery;


Areas of Responsibility:

1.      Commodity strategies: Implement commodity strategies to ensure long-term, cost efficient supply of materials;

2.      Standardization: Implement and ensure usage of globally defined methods, process and system to ensure high process efficiency and process compliance (e.g. compliant Purchase-to-Pay (P2) process, Procurement Guidelines, IT Systems);

3.      Monitor the markets worldwide to create a basis for deciding the optimum sourcing strategy and cooperate with the best suppliers;

4.      Procurement strategies: Define and implement Procurement strategies (which are not covered by Commodity strategies) based on conducted demand, market and supplier analysis to ensure long-term, cost efficient and reliable on-time supply of materials in the required quality;

5.      Negotiations: Prepare and conduct negotiations for low to high Purchasing Volumes to obtain highest feasible savings,

6.      Saving and relevant KPI: Generate document and implement savings, e.g. CNI, plan, monitor and report on relevant KPI to contribute to the success of the business and make results transparent;

7.      Supplier Management: Support Supplier Management process (e.g. qualification, selection, evaluation, development, classification), update supplier evaluation systems to obtain and develop the best suppliers and ensure transparency;

8.      Customer interface: Ensure a close cooperation with internal customers (requisitioners) to ensure customer care and early involvement;

9.      Early involvement: understands the impact of early Procurement involvement and supplier integration and strives to  influence sourcing decisions in the sense of procurement objectives. Is aware of time to market and budget requirements within his area of responsibility;

10.   Is able to develop reliable strategies and implementation plans, to document the strategy and monitors the progress and target achievements;

11.   Is able to apply innovative negotiation methods (e.g. ANC/e-Auction);

12.    Is able to adapt to negotiation partners from different cultures;

13.   Knows and understands contract templates and is able to apply/adjust them to more complex contract situations (interface with Legal area);

14.   Follows the process requirements in terms of Compliance;

15.   Knows the Siemens Business Conduct Guidelines and applies them in day-to-day work;

16.   Is able to identify and implement measures to ensure the adherence of the suppliers to the requirements of Compliance;

17.   Cross functional team work/networking: demonstrates a cooperative spirit and contributes to a positive and supportive working environment;

18.   Initiates collaborative decision-making processes and champions win-win solutions;

19.   Carry out the negotiation of Frame Agreements for the medium and long term;

20.   Team work behavior;

21.   Suggests corrective measures that meet the needs of the situation and those directly affected;

22.   Share information, ideas and suggestions with others and seeks their imput;

23.   Understands the monetary and non-monetary contributions of procurement to profit and loss;

24.   Act as a backup to the buyers that are out of the office;

25.  Coordinates with engineering the evaluation of technical proposals;

26.  Notifies PPM of any budget deviations per cos account (WBS);

27.  Escalates to engineering management when some of the requirements are missing;

28.  Keep the PPM informed of any project relevant events or changes;

29.  Ensures compliance with Siemens correct buying guidelines;

30.  Main performance measures: CNI / CTG / NCC/ Cashflow/Process improvements;

31.  Responsible to negotiate year bases contracts with vendors and also create contracts in SAP in automatic PO's process;  

31.  Location area: Rothschild/WI, Broussard/LA or Houston/TX


Required Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience:


-5+ years pf work experience in technical procurement preferred in Energy industry;

-Technical knowledge of engineered product required with expertise of mechanical/electrical/instrumental components;

-Proficient with SAP MM or similar ERP applications and Microsoft Office (Excel)

-Strong problem solving and analytical skills;

-Effective time management, problem solving and decision making skills;

-Proven cross-functional team member;

-Proven ability to multi-task in a fast paced;

-Strategic procurement experience and technical background a plus;
