Job Description:

*This role can reside in Mid West Region (Chicago, St. Louis, Indianapolis & Kansas City)


Position Overview


The Solutions Architect for IT Infrastructure & Extra Low Voltage Systems will provide technical support in development of Intelligent Infrastructure Solutions (Digital Building) projects, with a focus on Information Technology and Extra Low-Voltage (ELV) systems.  You will be responsible for guiding branch sales and operations teams through all stages of the project:  conceptualization, initial design, budgeting, final architecture, deployment, commissioning and service.  Very complex support will be required for projects to provide optimum input for quotes, workshops, scope of material (BoM assessment) and realization of potential for savings.  You’ll be responsible for managing IT and ELV 3rd party and partner engagement.  You’ll create project related technical documentation to include design architecture, project plans, and scopes of work.  Installs and services IT/ELV systems and software as required.  This individual will act as the main regional contact for all engagements with customer’s IT departments.
 
Responsibilities


This role is very customer focused and requires world class communication skills, including the ability to distill very complex technical issues and effectively communicate the outcome to a nontechnical audience.  Network engineer will be responsible for the following:


• Overall schematic design of complex integration projects
• IT & ELV partner relationship & engagement management
• Project assessment and qualification (go/no-go decision support)
• Project documents review (RFP, RFI, etc) and strategy formulation to address IT/ELV requirements of a project
• SOW and design  for  IT and low voltage solutions
• Budgets and estimates development in close collaboration with sales and operations teams
• IT / Network and ELV architecture
• RFP / RFQ / RFI responses
• Field application engineering including site surveys, customer needs assessments, troubleshooting, software updates, etc.

 
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience


• 5+ years experience in IT Solutions Architecture or Networking
• Current RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) or CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)certification
• 5+ years experience in converged building infrastructure solutions
• Significant experience in creating solutions in a team environment
• Experience in conceptualization and design of converged IT infrastructure  
• Strong understanding of IT/Networking and Low Voltage market
• IT/ELV manufacturer certifications are highly desired
• BS/BA in Information Science/Technology or Network Engineering
