Job Description:

Position Overview

 

Responsible for the procurement of goods and services in assigned commodities. Act as agent for the company in sourcing, evaluating and obtaining goods and services as outlined in the requirements. Ensure all approvals, bid requirements and sourcing decisions are consistent with company policy and procedures and objective selection criteria. Implement sourcing and commodity strategies where applicable and actively seek early involvement in sourcing decisions. Provide guidance to internal clients during early stages of the sourcing process.

 

Responsibilities

 

Strategic procurement of indirect services and goods within assigned commodities. Strategic tasks include the following:  Requirements analysis; prepare and conduct supplier negotiations;  forecast analyses, commodity strategy and initial purchases of new goods or services. Support supplier management processes and supplier evaluations that are required in assigned location / categories. Operates largely independent with minimal supervision and guidance from Purchasing Manager.

 

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

 

This position is for a senior level Strategic Buyer and requires experience with negotiation, data analysis, compliance and also requires excellent communication and leadership skills.

 

Candidate should possess proven sourcing qualities in the procurement of indirect materials and services.  Expert knowledge of contract language, Excel, Word, PowerPoint are necessary. Experience with e-bidding/e-sourcing is highly desired.

 

Multi-year successful track record with the strategic procurement of any or all of the following categories would be of great benefit:  IT Consulting & Services, Cloud Services, IT Software and Software Engineering services; software licenses, maintenance and subscriptions; IT hardware and marketing /communications.

 

Advanced skills in leading complex negotiations and contracting projects.  Strong knowledge of contract terms and negotiations of commercial clauses.

 

SAP experience a plus.  Spanish or Portuguese language skills not required, but also a plus 

 

Bachelor’s degree in business or supply chain management required.  Master’s degree preferred.
