Position Overview

Bachelor degree or equivalent required on one or more of the following fields: Biochemistry, Biology or Chemistry.  Tests antibody pools from raw bleed material to meet existing and revised specifications and claims. Uses excel spreadsheets and enter data relating to material qualification process as well as antibody inventory storage.  Perform experiments under guidance.  Knowledge and experience include: materials handling (bio and chemical hazardous materials and controlled substances), manufacturing, Lean Principles, working knowledge of modern analytical tools, principles for chemical and physical identifications and purifications.  Test antibody bleeds on multiple clinical analyzers which includes: 30R, AU640, Dimension, Dimension Vista, Advia 1800, Viva Series, and Atellica.  Process antibody on a larger scale (> 50 pounds).

 

Responsibilities

The functions will be in the area of biochemistry and diagnostics chemistry in an Operations environment.  The candidate may perform all aspects of manufacturing and project work to ensure completion within expected parameters and time frame. Results will be communicated to peers and management via standard written and oral means.  Good scientific principles and practices are expected throughout, including but not limited to:  documentation, data analysis, and technical support of procedures & processes.  The candidate may directly or indirectly interact with other scientists, engineers, quality assurance and management.  The individual will be expected to understand and comply with the Quality System Regulation in order to meet all FDA, ISO and IVDD standards.

 

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Medical Technology
  • 2+ years job related experience
  • Good understand and knowledge of Polyclonal antibodies and principles of immunodiagnostic technology as well as experience with immunoassays.
  • Work experience (including number of years))
  • Strong work ethic, excellent written and communication skills.
  • Amount of travel with the position
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
