The primary responsibility of this position is technical support to operations including troubleshooting highly complex problems, determining root cause and implementation of solutions. The position requires application of mechanical and process control design and support of automated medical diagnostic consumable device manufacturing equipment in a constantly changing fast-paced environment. The ability to work in both new design and existing machine upgrades with a working knowledge of commissioning, validation (IQ, OQ, and PQC) equipment is mandatory. The capability to lead medium to large projects and deliver committed results is expected. Self starting, excellent troubleshooting, communication, organization and prioritization skills are critical to success.
Working knowledge of Industrial Control Systems, mechanical systems and sensor technologies.
CAD knowledge and proficiency with a knowledge of parts mating and setting mechanical tolerances is required.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Systems, Equipment Reliability and Total Productive Maintenance methods is desired.
The ability to work independently in a respectful team environment is a must. Good oral and written communication skills, computer skills and strong results orientation and drive to meet committed deadlines are also required.
Completes complex material specification, schematic preparation and follow-up to ensure proper and effective implementation. Performs complex design, development, testing and modifications of solutions. Performs explanations and clarifies information to enable proper interpretation and evaluation of complex specifications, performance characteristics or other technical data. Performs communication of complex technical and commercial issues. Completes recommendations for complex new designs, new processes, or design changes to meet requirements.
Performs full range of standard work for the professional field. Refers complex, unusual problems to others. Identifies and resolves more complex problems and applies problem-solving skills in order to deal with most situations.

Provide general guidance or train support and/or professional staff.

Primarily intra-organizational contacts and external contacts.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
BS/BA in related discipline such as Mechanical, Electo/Mechanical, Industrial Automation Engineering etc. OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience, where applicable.
Typically 5-8 years of successful experience in related field
