Job Description:

Position Overview

As the Procurement Manager, you will lead the implementation of supply chain strategies while optimizing supply cost and EVA (earned value analysis) contribution. You will also lead procurement activities associated with Energy Management Location Procurement operational factory foot print project. You'll understand operational strategy and develop / execute procurement strategy with support from cross functional team with the objective to contribute to value add (i.e. material cost, cash flow, cycle time reduction). This is an individual contributor role that will report into Director of Procurement, Factories.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and drives location procurement strategies (with cross functional consensus)
  • Lead non-pooled direct purchasing volume to drive productivity (using procurement levers – negotiation, eAuction, cost transparency)
  • Leads and develops non-pooled supplier base in commercial issues, supplier qualification, development and overall relationship management
  • Assist with implementing the preferred logistic model, asset management and standard payment terms within our supply base
  • Run the overall Procurement activities related to LP (Low Voltage Products) foot print optimization project with support from location procurement managers and commodity managers
  • Execute procurement activities in close coordination with plant location procurement manager and commodity management team to ascertain that procurement strategies are developed in accordance with overall strategic material strategy
  • Lead scope definition, preparation of RFQ package, bench marking, supplier selection and overall sourcing process
  • Collaborate with LP SQM (Supply Quality Mgt.) team for supplier evaluation and development activities when it relates to LP foot print optimization projects
  • Collaborate with LP PE (Purchase Engineering) team in developing strategy and implementation of insourcing projects
  • Collaborate with CVE (Cost Value Engineer) team in developing true cost of manufactured product, should cost analysis. Leverage them for supplier negotiations related to foot print project
  • Collaborate with CM (Commodity Management) in finalizing supplier agreements
  • Drive for CNI (Contributions to Net Income), cash flow and cycle time reduction opportunities

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • BS or BA degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related fields
  • 8-10 years’ experience in Procurement or supply chain management
  • 15 - 20% travel required (mostly domestic)
  • Proven skills in supplier negotiations and supplier management
    • Strong project management skills
    • Ability to influence others without authority
  • Consistent track record working with suppliers in related field
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong leadership, listening, verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • PMP certification preferred
  • Knowledge of Siemens sourcing processes is helpful
  • Knowledge of Siemens product is helpful
