The Quality Engineer will review the technical requirements and specifications defined in the proposal phase and ensure the project is executed to those requirements.
The incumbent must have the ability and knowledge to participate in discussions and or decisions regarding the technical requirement with various parties customer, internal and external. The Quality Engineer will work closely with the customer and supplier base via technical review meetings, kick-off meetings, weekly meeting, inspection meetings or other means. This role will also work closely with engineering and other internal stakeholders, production, suppliers, and the Quality team to ensure compliance to customer requirements and code quality requirements for equipment and build records. The incumbent will also create project specific inspection and Test Plan and Vendor Requirements Plan.
Other activities may include inspections of equipment at vendor location, maintain traceability of components and associated equipment documents, and assist in the creation Manufacturing Record Books to be submitted to customers and customer inspection notifications.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED
A minimum of 5 years’ experience as Quality Engineer in the gas turbine packaging industry or related fields, on electrical components, mechanical components, welding of structures and piping, assembly of electrical systems and piping systems, and machining of large bases.
Experience in review of customer and equipment specification.
Microsoft word, excel, and outlook as a minimum.
Knowledge of various technical requirements / specifications such as AWS D1.1, ASME B31.3, ASME Boiler code, API 616, API 617, API 614, API 546, API 661, API 671, NFPA 70, IEEE, NEC, IEC, CE, ABS and or ISO standards.
Must be familiar with the following types of equipment:
Complete Turbine packages and individual equipment: Gas Turbines, pumps, large motors, acoustic/filtration packages for gas turbine, gas seal panels oil coolers, gas conditioning skids, turbine acoustic and filtration, low and high voltage/AC DC control panels, MCC’s, and other large related components.
Domestic and international travel required.10%

SAP, TeamCenter a plus
Bachelors of Science in Engineering or Science discipline
