Summary:

 

The IIOT Technical Consultant main role will be to provide support packages for the initiation, design and realization phases of verifying the customers MindSphere solutions. Provide MindConnect Integration Consulting and Insights and expertise to assist and simplify the integration of on-premise and cloud based systems with MindSphere


The IIOT Technical Consultant will work independently and focused on the creation of ancillary supporting applications, services, and background processing required for the existing suite as well as deployment.


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be self-motivated and demonstrate the ability to work with individuals from various functional groups. The individual’s responsibilities span all aspects of software development, including, but not limited to, design, implementation, and testing. Many times the individual will be working on several projects simultaneously, requiring good organization skills and multi-tasking abilities. A secondary objective is the installation of various software applications. In executing these duties, it is paramount that the individual properly document and communicate the technical content of the design.

 

Responsibilities:

 

•Adhere to a Delivery Excellence culture and structure to ensure highest quality projects
•Provide pre-defined and tested methodology from Siemens.
•Provide support packages for the initiation, design and realization phases of verifying the customers MindSphere solutions.
•MindSphere Solution design support by our client’s business needs and assessing their requirements for successful implementations
•Implement across multiple IIoT projects
•Remain in regular communication with customers and maintain an in-depth understanding of their requirements.
•Provides direction and assistance to complete analysis of systems, networks, customer technology, software, and/or other related IIoT technology projects and programs.
•Collaborate with project managers, data engineers and data scientists to organize, develop, and present solutions to complex problems

 

Qualifications and Experience:

 

•Minimum of 4 years practical software engineering and design work
•Experience in a manufacturing environment a plus.
•Experience with IIOT technologies, communication protocols (e.g. OPC, UDP, MTConnect, MQTT, serial Modbus protocol, Apache Kafka, Docker, and Kubernetes), and data collection from industrial assets in a factory setting.
•Thorough understanding of edge computing and/or Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) ecosystems
•Experience developing functional/technical solutions through connecting plant equipment to business processes/requirements
•Conducting tests that analyses design, feasibility, operations and performance of control systems
•Understanding of plant issue root cause analysis
•Demonstrated success with customer facing experience; good communication ability, adaptable to needs of stakeholders
