Job Description:

We are looking for a highly qualified and upbeat Manufacturing Engineer for our Heber Springs, AR factory. Our facility is involved in the design, development and manufacture of medium and high voltage disconnect / load break switches.

Position Overview

You'll be responsible for manufacturing capability, continuity and continuous improvement. This includes documentation and performance measurement of manufacturing processes, new product introduction, improvements to production lines, capital expenditures, cost savings measures and fixture design. You will also participate in the resolution of issues and improvements to IT infrastructure and production systems. Projects owned by you will be key components in the realization of the factory vision.

Responsibilities

  • Improve safety for all personnel that work in and around production lines
  • Drive efforts and initiatives to reduce production errors, improve product quality and ensure productivity is at its peak
  • Performance measurement and documentation of manufacturing processes
  • Demonstrated ability to implement lean improvement projects
  • Identification and management of improvement projects that may require capital expenditures, contractors, cost savings calculations, CAD design and physical installation work
  • Work with digitalization team to implement tools such as digital work instructions, operator displays, performance / status dashboards, and other connected worker support tools
  • Facility and maintenance improvements related to production areas
  • Maintain accurate production line drawings and convert to NX
  • Production line changes related to introduction of new products

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

What you will need to know and have done to be successful?
  • B.S. or greater in Engineering
  • 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience
  • Manufacturing time study and manufacturing flow analysis skills and value stream mapping
  • Completion of relevant projects to improve safety, quality, delivery reliability and cost in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to measure, design/specify and install production fixtures and equipment
  • Lean manufacturing techniques
  • Understanding of fabrication / machining processes and equipment
  • Proficiency in data collection and analysis
  • AutoCAD and 3D software
  • Consistent track record of innovative thinking and process improvement
  • Strong work ethic and committed to do what it takes to get the job done on time and with high quality.

Preferred

  • Experience simulating manufacturing systems and processes
  • Experience with computer programming and/or database management
  • Experience with SAP or similar MRP system
