Job Description:

Position Overview

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy Inc. is looking for an energetic, self motivated project manager with 5 - 8 years of experience, for the Real Estate Department.  PM will execute a wide range of real estate related projects (within-the-walls remodels, New construction, expansion, tenant moves) as well as lead and execute other ad hoc projects as may be required to support Real Estate Operations.  This is an individual contributor role.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Prepare and present a return on investment (ROI) on capital investments (with support from Finance)

  • Plan, organize and execute Real Estate projects, within scope and budget.

  • Develop technical/commercial aspects of Request For Proposals.  Coordinate bid reviews with Procurement Dept. 

  • Prepare timely requisitions for FF&E and GC contracts

  • Receive proposals, review architectural documents and award contracts

  • Ensure contractors perform in accordance with plans and specifications.

  • Provide documentation and records throughout the construction process..

  • Anticipate opportunities and/or occurrences that could impact the construction schedule.

  • Exercise independent judgment on moderately complex tasks

  • Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform more complex tasks

  • Utilize experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and perform moderate and difficult tasks

  • Coordinate and verify documentation and compliance of OSHA regulations, construction contracts and capital management practices throughout all projects.  

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  •  Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, electrical, chemical, construction management or related field 5 - 8 years of general experience
  • Able to read and speak Spanish and English
  • Ability to read and understand construction documents
  • Ability to lead contractors through a moderately difficult project
  • Ability to budget and organize orders on a project
  • Basic financial training
  • 3- 5 years of construction management experience or related area
  • Experience with construction project management tools
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Proven  conflict management and negotiation skills
  • Ability to communicate with all levels within the organization and external vendors
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of software
  • Ability to travel independently (50%)


Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Very good skills using MS excel, and Project manager.
  • Some experience working with general contractors in South America
