Job Description:

Position Overview
The Product Architect position is in the Siemens PLM Americas Technology Office – Tech Solutions group. You will be responsible to analyze, and decompose new product technologies for use by the field services group.  This includes but not limited to; Teamcenter, Deployment Center, Polarion, and MOM products.  This role will focus developing best practices for installation and implementation of such technologies.  You will also be responsible for supporting some billable customer projects. This position requires up to 50% travel at any given time.
 
Responsibilities
  • Analyze new product technology, develop solutions, validate, and create Advantedge deliverables.
  • Develop/Improve tools and processes to enable Field Services with a focus on Teamcenter implementation.
  • Project activities and priorities are driven by field and customer needs.
  • Engage with Sales/Pre-Sales, Americas Zone Services, customers, Product Development, PDS, GTAC, and global teams.
  • Works on medium sized, individual projects, in a single computer environment where design is complex.
  • Analyzes customers' business requirements and application objectives, develops an application design in products to meet customers' needs.
  • Conducts periodic status checks with customer and team to assess progress against plan.
  • Estimates time frames, quality and quantity of resources required to successfully implement complex project; develops project plan incorporating all project variables.
  • Prepares weekly status reports on all project activities.
  • May perform pre-sales support activities as needed.
 
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
  • Demonstrates and applies a broad knowledge of field of specialization through successful completion of moderately complex assignments. Successfully applies complex knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of organization's business practices and issues.
  • Typically 5-8 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above. Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience, where applicable.
  •  4-7 years of experience and working knowledge of Teamcenter and other Siemens products including but not limited to; Installation, configuration (BMIDE), customization
  • Ability to gather use case information, document and perform use case requirements
  • Self-directed and able to work with limited supervision
  • Travel – 50% of the time
  • Ability to work in Department of Defense or U.S. Government Agency locations

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, computer engineering, one of the engineering verticals or a combination of education and equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Teamcenter customizations; ITK, Rich Client, Web Client, Workflow handlers or Active Workspace a plus
  • Experience with relational databases including optimization with MSSQL, Oracle
  • Experience deploying JBoss and .Net
  • Experience with Siemens products in the areas of installation, configuration, troubleshooting
  • Experience with Linux/Solaris/Windows
  • Strong customer facing skills, structured approach to projects, and clear and concise communications/documentation skills.
  • Demonstrated capability for problem solving and decision making skills
  • Demonstrated experience working with cross functional teams
  • Organized, detail-oriented, efficient, and accurate
  • Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills.
  • Experienced user of the MS Office toolset (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Visio)
