Job Description:

Head of HR People & Leadership Americas
 
Position Overview
 
  • The Head of People & Leadership (PL) Americas is responsible for the regional deployment and execution/implementation of all global PL standards, processes, programs and policies
  • He/she is managing the People & Leadership functions and organizations (Talent Acquisition, Learning & Leadership Excellence, Employee & Leadership Development, and Strategy & Innovation) for the Region Americas.
  • He/she works closely with the global HR PL Function Leads with the objective of positioning HC as an attractive employer internally and externally in the
  • region
  • The Americas Head of PL drives timely, cost effective and methodical application of concepts and initiatives in the region together with the Country PL Team Leads.
  • He/she fosters knowledge sharing by participating in global communities of practice.
     
Reporting Structure
  • Direct report to Global HR PL Head and to Americas Head of Human Resources
  • Member of the region HR management team and HR PL management team
 
Success Drivers
 
  • Global functional standards, processes, programs and policies deployed and executed in region (measured according to predefined KPIs)
  • Management of Americas PL functions (Talent Acquisition, Learning, Employee & Leadership Development)
  • Provided partnership and consultancy to region HR Head to ensure successful implementation of defined initiatives in the region

  • Deploy and execute global standards, processes, programs and policies for all HR PL functions in the region:

  • Manage direct and indirect reports in the Americas People & Leadership functions:

Talent Acquisition

Employee & Leadership Development

Learning & Leadership Excellence

Strategy & Innovation

  • Analyze regional business needs and regional labor/market workforce challenges and regionally adapt processes, programs and policies if needed
  • Provide regional input to Global HR PL Function Leads
  • Contribute to the formulation of the Region People Strategy as a member of the region HR leadership team
  • Drive implementation of effective functional programs, processes and activities in close cooperation with Global HR PL Function Leads, Global/Region HR BPs, Region HR Head and Country HR PL Team Leads
  • Discuss needed regional/country adaptions of global programs with Global HR PL Function Leads
  • Contribute to HC HR communities of practice
 
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
 
  • MS degree required and MBA or PhD preferred in HR related education
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of all facets of the HR PL function including, but not limited to Talent Acquisition, organizational development and change management, diversity & workforce planning, Learning, Employee & Leadership Development
  • Solid knowledge on cross-country labor law / labor relations aspects that would impact implementation of programs/initiatives in the region.
  • 10 years of demonstrated success as an HR professional at technology or healthcare businesses is desired
  • Relevant HR generalist (Business Partner, region / country) and specialist experience in related CoE
  • International working experience
  • Multiple regions/countries; experience working with a diverse workforce across geographies
  • Strong people management and leadership capabilities required to lead teams and organizations
  • Strong capacity to understand people issues impacting the business and how the business can create profit and value
  • Ability to develop clear, actionable steps in support of an overall business strategy.
  • Has the clear aspiration to be trusted business advisor and sparring partner for the business management.
  • Anticipate business needs and offer solutions in a pro-active manner
  • Ability to work successfully with C level and HR management teams
  • Ability to lead HR change initiatives and contribute to business change activities
