Job Description:

Leads the most complex installation and checkout of electric and electronic components for systems and service installed jobs and service agreements associated with maintenance and testing of: switchgears, motor controls, circuit breakers, panel boards, transformers, surge protection devices, vibration analysis and metering, battery maintenance and testing, power monitoring, power quality, protective relay maintenance. May need to install wiring and conduit and connect to the power source.
Performs emergency troubleshooting of power distribution products and 3rd party equipment. Performs highly complex service upgrades, reconditioning, retrofits, etc. for its low-voltage power distribution products and systems. Proper licensing for intended work is required and may include low voltage, alarm, communications, or Journeyman/Master Electrician licenses..
Coordinates with or advises supervision about the requirements for material and supplies to ensure timely delivery to the job site. Provides instructions to customer personnel regarding proper operations and routine inspections and assists with training and system acceptance. Provides expert advice, training, and technical assistance to support staff and train lower level employees.
 
 
 
 
Job Family Responsibilities:

Leads the most complex equipment installation, trial runs, investigative tests, repairs and overhauls. Leads the most complex product and service training to customers. Guides the most complex maintenance on tools, test equipment, etc., and completes documents of all installations, inspections, maintenance and repair work, and failures. Leads the most complex service or systems calls and interfaces with customer personnel to provide quality service and feedback on problem evaluation and resolution. Guides assessment of the most complex installation and service of product/equipment performance based on field support data and designs modifications or improvements. May lead the negotiation and administration of service or systems contracts.

Education:

Associates degree or 1-2 years of vocational technical training preferred. HS diploma or equivalent required. Specialized skill training/certification may be required.

Knowledge and Experience:

Successfully demonstrates leading-edge or extensive knowledge in a technical or specialty area.Generally, 8+ years of successful experience in area of responsibility and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.

Direction of Others:

May provide expert advice, training, and technical assistance to support staff and train lower level employees.

Key Working Relationships:

Represents the organization as a prime internal contact and possibly a key external contact.
