Job Description:

Position Overview


As an Associate Project Manager of Siemens Building Technologies Fire Solutions team you are responsible for the technical and commercial success of the projects in your portfolio, as well as customer satisfaction. You'll be responsible for managing Siemens resources and third party subcontracted resources on a daily basis managing new construction life safety projects supporting the Birmingham Sales Team 


Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the sales team to plan, schedule, and execute projects to meet customer program milestones and deadlines.
  • Identify and manage risk in your projects, and escalate risks to the operations manger wherever a risk is likely to negatively impact a key project milestone or budget.
  • Manage the KPI's in your project portfolio including forecasting cost, planned cost, actual cost, cost variances, schedule variance, cost-to-complete, cash-flow, billing, and revenue.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations, and proactively communicate between all stakeholders to ensure all parties are aligned and all conflicts and issues are resolved.
  • Document all key meetings, important decisions, changes in scope, and dependencies on other trades which impacts Siemens progress.
  • Create monthly status reporting and management level reporting for projects in your portfolio.
  • Coordinate procurement and logistics of material and labor for timely delivery in line with project execution.
  • Manage responsibilities related to safety requirements and quality assurance for projects in your portfolio.     

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Required education: High school diploma
  • Required travel 10%
  • Minimum 5 years experience in the life safety industry
  • Minimum NICET Level II in fire alarm systems
  • Must be at least 21 years old to participate in the required Siemens vehicle plan
  • Must have a valid drivers license in good standing
  • Ability to work in the U.S. without a need for current or future sponsorship
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office and Microsoft Excel

 

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Preferred education: Associates Degree
  • Preferred experience: 5 years experience in the life safety industry within the State of Alabama
  • NICET Level III in fire alarm systems preferred
