Solutions (VES) organization is responsible for the development and transfer of
education and training curriculum for both In-vivo and In-vitro Customers and
Sales specialists. All individuals in VES
work cross functionally with a network of subject matter experts, including but
not limited to: second level support, research & development, marketing,
global commercialization teams, core teams, and other groups in the development
and delivery of education and training. Direction for VES is provided by
establishing annual strategic imperatives. These imperatives will create the
foundation of tactical initiatives for continued improvement in educational
offering, customer relationships, method penetration, cash-flow, productivity,
and building organizational excellence.
As a member of Virtual Education Solutions, the Education Consultant is responsible for the overall instructional integrity of the performance improvement solutions for active and collaborative virtual learning. Taking strategic and operational direction from the Director of VES, the Education Consultant actively participates with subject matter networks to develop effective training programs based on established curriculum design and to ensure compliance with all quality system requirements. The Education Consultant works with the Director of VES to lead Customer Education Element Teams in support of product launch initiatives, maintains project plans delineating curriculum development activities and timelines, and creates and updates the VES curriculum development plan detailing strategic and tactical initiatives in support of product launches. The Education Consultant in partnership with a team of training and subject matter network specialists will participate in the development of all product training and will report on development and completion activities for global consumption. The Education Consultant fulfills diverse assignments that support departmental and business needs as outlined below.
a. Design and Develop virtual education curriculums through the combination of various educational strategies such as self-paced e learning modules, performance support; job aids & videos,, assessments, surveys, training workbooks, and facilitator guides. Manage the design and development of education and training modules by following design and development processes and using tools set forth in the Health Care Integrated Solution (HILS) platform.
b. . Project management and instructional design for the development of both customer and sales virtual training programs using an established foundation for curriculum design. Develop standards of functionality, effectiveness, and appearance for training. Identify course objectives and assess most effective instructional method to achieve. Build network of subject matter experts to develop innovative solutions that impact business metrics and organizational effectiveness. Consult the education specialists in updating the content of existing training offerings to include new techniques, approaches and technology. The incumbent communicates ideas to other global commercialization team members through various forms of written communications including lists of learning objectives, script, story boards, outlines, testing, blueprints and flow charts.
c. Evaluate training effectiveness, includes
front-end performance improvement measurements, development and implementation
of evaluation mechanisms and reporting on trends/corrective action. Determine
transfer of knowledge levels and redesign/update existing materials.
d. Needs and task analysis and other research to identify and validate need for training and what needs to be trained. Identify target audience and research their current mastery level; identify gaps and develop learning objectives and specifications. Observe task performance in the training and trainee environment as needed.
e. Support education innovation strategies to expand portfolio of offerings to bring forth value in educational efficiencies and effectiveness in the areas of course design, delivery and technology implementation. Establishes and maintains network of alliances with education consultants to identify alternate training design and delivery channels. Participate in activities that support professional development, e.g., workshops, seminars, training organizations.
f. Coordinates and conducts a curriculum hand off event for new or existing products to appropriate regional trainers.
From time to time, the Education Consultant’s supervisor/manager may assign additional unlisted duties/responsibilities on a temporary or regular basis depending on business needs.
Education Consultant is responsible for understanding the Quality Management System. Individual needs to integrate their knowledge of the quality policy and business objectives into their work practices to augment the business such as: participating in internal audits, identifying areas which need improvement, implementing plans to correct and prevent problems. Incumbent is required to meet all Quality Management System requirements for the functional group and Siemens Healthineers.
Education Consultant is responsible for understanding the Product Development Processes for both In-vivo and In-vitro. Individual needs to integrate their knowledge of PDP into their work practices to augment the business such as: participating in product launch meetings, conducting needs analyses, leading element team meetings, maintaining project plans, and developing VES support plans in support of product launch initiatives. Incumbent is required to meet all VES-specific product launch requirements for the functional group and Siemens Healthineers.
Education – Bachelor’s degree in one of the following: Medical Technology or an associated science, Adult Education, Instructional Design, Applied Technology, or Curriculum Development– or discipline related to these areas plus formal coursework or experience in designing and delivering instructional education. Clinical experience preferred.
Experience – 3 to 5 years professional experience with increasing responsibility and various assignments in training industry with proven track record. 2 to 3 years of instructional design experience for both traditional and e-Learning/distance learning applications, with emphasis on Technical Instruction/Education is preferred but not required. Requires high degree of interpersonal communications for negotiation, team leading, interviews and presentations. Project planning and management skills essential for the numerous team projects required. Requires experience with leading edge training tools and technologies in graphics, computer-based training, and production of presentation materials. Experience with statistical analysis tools and methods for evaluating training needs and effectiveness desired. Must be committed to on-going intellectual and professional development, including knowledge of current and emerging technology.
