Job Description:

Position Overview

 

The EHS Specialist will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all local, state and federal regulations and developing, implementing and administering all environmental, health and safety programs.  This position supports the Clinical Solutions manufacturing operations and reports directly to the Senior EHS Manager.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Maintain site-related EHS permits, licenses and registrations 
  • Prepare and submit all environmental, health and safety regulatory & company required reports
  • Investigate accidents and incidents (including near misses, releases), determine root causes and implement corrective action plans
  • Maintain OSHA logs and associated documentation, manage worker’s compensation claims and return-to-work program
  • Perform evaluations of existing and new processes to ensure all EHS requirements are being met and recommend improvements to eliminate, reduce or control waste, emissions and hazards
  • Conduct industrial hygiene (IH) surveys, job hazard analyses (JHA) and personal protective equipment (PPE) assessments
  • Conduct ergonomic evaluations of office and manufacturing work environments
  • Work with the facilities team to manage the Contractor Safety Program

·        Conduct compliance and management system assessments 

  • Develop EHS training courses for Siemens Molecular Imaging locations
  • Lead site Emergency Response, Evacuation and EHS Teams
  • Maintain the chemical inventory and SDS database
  • Maintain environmental regulatory compliance activities including, but not limited to hazardous waste handling and reporting, SARA 312 Hazardous Material Reporting, SARA 313 Toxic Release Inventory Reporting
  • Provide technical guidance to management regarding environmental, health and safety related issues or concerns, and regulatory compliance
  • Serve as the EHS Product Related Environmental, Health and Safety Protection (PREP) Lead
  • Interface with EHS regulatory agencies

 

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science,  or related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in EHS Program Management
  • Working knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations and industry EH&S standards
  • Strong knowledge in electrical safety and high voltage including OSHA and NFPA 70E compliance
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize, evaluate, and recommend controls for workplace hazards
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills
  • Strong writing capabilities, especially with writing clear, concise EHS procedures  
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to interface with all levels of the organization
  • Travel up to 25% when necessary

 

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

 

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification,  Certified Hazardous Material Manager(CHMM) certification , or equivalent
  • Experience working with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 Management Systems
  • Forklift train-the trainer certification
