Our contributions sometimes aren’t very apparent – but our innovations have made history. The Siemens Building Technologies Division is searching for a dynamic Sr. Design Engineer to design Building Automation, fire alarm and Mass Notification and Security systems using company tools and operating protocols. You will receive project specifications from the sales team and design turn-key fire alarm systems. You will choose the appropriate mix of products and installation methods to provide the most cost effective solution. Preparing all required submittals and scheduling subsequent hand-off to operations and handling the ordering of all required products and equipment are also a part of the role.

Our Engineers act as a technical resource to team and customer. You will participate in sales to operations turnover meetings to evaluate accuracy of the sales estimate and job layout and initial job site walk through with contractors and/or building management. As a Design Engineer you will work independently to design life safety systems in a large Industrial Environment. Do you like to use your creativity to design complex solutions to meet customer requirements? Our Design Engineers analyze plans, construction contract specifications and codes to determine project requirements and risks. Along with preparing engineering re-estimate and following up with appropriate sales and management you will also assure the understanding of and completeness of the job scope. You will prepare specifications and drawings for special components and panels purchased from outside suppliers and all information on pre-installation extras or change orders to submit to customer or general/ subcontractor. Some field activities may be required.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience

  • Associates degree in Electronics or other technical field or equivalent experience.
  • 10 years experience in engineering /systems or other related experience.
  • Strong knowledge of industry engineering fundamentals and business operations required.
  • Experience with industry related Building Automation, Commercial Fire Alarm & Security products.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, MDT/CT, Navigator, and AutoCAD or any related Engineering Design Software required.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fully proficient and independent design skills.
  • Legally authorized for employment in the Unites State and will not require employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future.
