Job Description:

Siemens Postal Parcel and Airport Logistic LLC (PPAL) is currently seeking qualified Operation and Maintenance Technicians at our Charlotte Airport operation. The individual must possess the knowledge and experience to repair and maintain machinery, mechanical equipment and electro-mechanical / laser recognition systems used in baggage conveyor systems and other day-to-day activities with minimum equipment down time.
 
Responsibilities:
Provide accurate and timely written reports of safety, and operational and maintenance issues.
Troubleshoot, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic devices, electro-mechanical/laser recognition systems, baggage handling equipment and conveyor systems in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operational manuals and manufacturer’s specifications using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring and testing instruments.
Physical requirements may include, but are not limited to, lifting (50 to 100 pounds), bending, reaching, climbing, walking, crawling, standing, sitting, climbing stairs, speaking, sight, and/or hearing to complete the job duties.
Interpret data and suggest maintenance schedule/activity adjustments to the Manager.
Update daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance activities schedule.
Order and maintain a stock of spare parts necessary for proper servicing of the automation equipment.
To ensure all Preventative and Predictive Maintenance practices and procedures are scheduled and followed.
Performing Emergency repairs.
General cleanup of work areas.
Responding to service calls after normal work hours.
Skill set includes:
Electro-Electronics/Mechanical skills.
Maintenance work flow training (scheduling, PM tasking, work order creation, etc…)
Adhering to safety regulations and safe work practices.
Basic skills involving organization, management, communication, computer, math, and reading schematics.
Ability to pass all background checks and security screenings per airport requirements.
Working shift will be decided among management and employee.
 
Qualifications
Associates degree in electronics or mechanical repair or related field or equivalent experience preferred
Minimum of two (2) years experience in mechanical or electrical maintenance required, experience in conveyor system maintenance and repair preferred
Ability to read and interpret manufacturing instructions regarding repair and maintenance of baggage conveyor systems.
Availability to work scheduled shift (s), which may require work at night, weekends and holidays as required.
Proficient with problem solving, math reasoning, verbal and written communications.
