Job Description:

FDO-Application Engineer
 
Position Overview
 

Working as part of a cross-functional team, this position will be the applications expert specific to HVAC equipment technology/functionality supporting both sales and product management specific to product developments, customer attainment, application development, and training and product on-boarding within both new and existing OEM accounts.    

 
Responsibilities
 
  • Work with Product Management in establishing market requirements for new product developments
  • Support OEM sales team as technical/application expert during customer meetings
  • Conduct product feature/benefit analysis in support of improved sales effectiveness within the market
  • Perform product and manufacturing evaluations within targeted OEM accounts to define marketable value
  • Develop technical on-boarding plan, for new customers, in support of proposal development
  • Use programming tools to translate customer equipment sequence of operations into application code
  • Test and validate application code and train customers to enable customization
  • Provide support to R&D, Product Management and Marketing during product development and launch
  • Work with both customer and internal groups in support of identifying and resolving field issues
  • Lead on-site implementation of Siemens product use within customer facilities
  • Work directly with engineering and product management in coordinating custom requests by customers
  • Conduct both customer and sales team trainings specific to product operation, feature/benefit, programming, installation and troubleshooting
 
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with at least 3 years HVAC/RTU equipment experience 
  • Hands on experience and familiarity with HVAC equipment controls methodology
  • Strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to translate into clear requirements and actions
  • Highly organized with strong attention to details
  • Proficient knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel, Word and Power Point
  • Excellent communication skills including written, verbal, and presentation
  • Highly motivated with a desire to succeed and grow within a large global organization
  • Up to 40% travel
  • Utilize proven organizational skills to successfully manage activities.
 
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience

Experienced in HVAC equipment control programming, especially block programming, operation and troubleshooting

  • C, C++, MATLAB, LabVIEW
